‘Hubris’ is dangerous in politics: Yashwant Sinha to Cong

NEW DELHI: Former Union Minister Yashwant Sinha on Sunday cautioned the principal Opposition Congress party to get rid of “hubris” and form a “united front” against the BJP even in the state assembly elections.
Taking to micro-blogging site, Twitter, the former BJP leader said,”Hubris is dangerous in politics. Congress party should rid itself of this vice and start talking to everyone so that a united front emerges against the BJP even in the state elections.”
Mr Sinha’s statement come days after BSP supremo Mayawati announced that her party would go alone in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly and Rajasthan Assembly polls. It came a day after the Samajwadi Party ruled out any alliance with the Congress for the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections.
The developments have come as a jolt to the efforts by the Congress to forge a united opposition front in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
The Election Commission on Saturday announced Assembly elections in the five states of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Mizoram. (AGENCIES)
