How to decide Truth and Untruth

Swami Ram Swarup Ji, Yogacharya

All the ancient as well as present Rishi-Munis, Rajrishis and learned public have accepted the eternal vedic tradition that to decide the truth we will have to give the evidence of ved mantras or views of Rishi-munis, Yogis.
In addition Gautam Rishi states in his Nyaye Shastra that the vedic discussion and argument to know the truth is necessary which is called Tark or reasoning/logic.
So, eternal truth can only be known by putting questions-answers, arguments and discussion on the subject. But, it is sad that nowadays, most of the pandits have stopped the same by telling that no questions or arguments etc. are required on the matter of faith (Dharma) and hence the problem because it spreads blind faith.
In this connection, we pay our attention towards Yog Shastra Sutra 1/7 which states that when we know the truth about the visible and invisible matters with the evidence of vedas or the preach of Rishi-munis and yogis [who by following vedas, have realized God] that is called Aagam Pramann.
In this regard, Vyas Muniji also accepts the said views. Therefore either we restrict ourselves to our views, in any worldly matter, based on the eternal vedic philosophy as was applicable right from the beginning of earth, so as to maintain peace, spread international brotherhood, overcome corruption, blind faith, dishonor of women etc. or we may neglect the eternal vedic culture, create self-made paths and deliver our views against our vedic culture which leads to immoral activities, violence (terrorism), blind faith, jealousy, destroying humanity at all levels.
Nowadays, it has been a tradition of saying that everybody is free to express his views on any subject, according to Indian constitution; which also speaks to adhere to secularism. But whether the said freedom has enabled us to gain good education and character, stoppage of corruption and hooliganism, overcome poverty, give respect to women, stoppage of suicide in some fields especially of helpless farmers and solving several crucial national problems.
Answer is perhaps no. Why? Because when the national culture is destroyed then the nation gets automatically destroyed. Here, we talk about the eternal Indian vedic culture which seems to have been totally finished. Isn’t it that its bad effect is also seen in our Parliament and Legislative assemblies where for the last seventy years mostly right from Prime minister to Ministers, M.Ps and MLAs etc. are also in the habit of uttering unparliamentary language, spreading ravages of hatred, politics of revenge/votes, corruption, selfishness etc., neglecting the preach of above quoted eternal vedic culture.
Atharvaved mantras 11/3(1)/26-31 speak that if a nation-public would get progress in materialism only, oversighting spiritualism (vedic culture) then there will be no one to stop the nation-public from committing corruption, sins etc. Actually, this has been observed in present scenario that nation has over-sighted the eternal vedic culture.
Therefore, it would be of no use to relate politicians with vedic culture because most of the politicians on the earth have got no time to spare to listen to eternal knowledge of vedas (unlike Sri Ram, King Dashrath, Harishchandra and several Rishi-Munis) to discharge their duties including politics to serve the public best, based on the knowledge of Vedas, as before.
A deep consideration over the said subject would reveal that it has also become difficult to maintain good character and moral values within the public in the absence of eternal vedic culture. Because eternal vedic culture does not permit addition and alteration in its rules and regulations and does not allow freedom to do or to speak against the culture, moral righteousness etc. (Rigved mantra 3/56/1 refers). For example- Vedas preach all human-beings including politicians to speak sweetly and to speak truth, protect public and provide them with food, shelter but in the absence of said culture all has gone in vain as poor people are being ignored.
Secondly, the origin of present sects and path of so-called saints, who are against the Vedas has come into existence since about two to two thousand five hundred years ago.
Let us think over our present Sanatan Dharma. Though the meaning of word Sanatan is eternal and everlasting but our present Sanatan dharma originated within the above quoted time period, teaches us to do idol worship, worship of several Goddesses and accept avtarwad etc. whereas our eternal vedic culture denies the same and promotes worship of only one formless God Who creates, nurses and destroys the universe.
So, we Hindus are in confusion and dilemma that between the eternal vedic culture and idol worship etc. which one is true and beneficial for human-beings.
It shall not be out of place to mention here that people of the world are suffering from sorrows, disturbances, tensions, terrorism and several other problems including the fear of third world war. So, naturally public wants peace. But public being ignorant, the so-called saints and false prophets who themselves have never studied Vedas and are far from having peace; they attract public, lure them and assure them of peace along with several false blessings. In this way, they force the public to follow their self-made harmful paths, against our vedic culture.
So, being ignorant, whatever is advised to public against the Vedas by the so-called saints and false prophets, they accept. So, they have no choice except to follow the said path advised by false prophets which leads them to indulge in illusion and blind faith like worship of ghosts, following tantrikism etc.
This has become a scene where the sun sets and darkness begins i.e. the sun/knowledge of Vedas sets down and darkness of illusion spreads.
India has been the Spiritual Master of the world, based on the vedic knowledge only. Therefore, it is India only who will first have to think to Revert Back to Vedas.
