JAMMU, Jan 2: A housewife has been raped by her neighbour in Sather area of tehsil Mera Mandrain, falling under the jurisdiction of Akhnoor police station.
As per police sources, a man identified as Jahangir, son of Jamal Din, a resident of Sather, Tehsil Mera Mandrain barged into the house of his neighbour and raped the housewife, after finding her alone.
The lady raised hue and cry and the accused escaped from the spot, threatening the victim of dire consequences, if she revealed the ordeal to anyone.
The woman narrated the incident to her family members, who reported the matter to Akhnoor police station.
A case under FIR Number 4/17 under Section 452 and 376 RPC has been registered at police station Akhnoor and manhunt has been launched to nab the rapist.
