MENDHAR, July 9; A young housewife attempted suicide by consuming some poisonous substance while two youth were injured in a road accident, here today.
Reports said that Mumtaz Kousar, wife of Sarfraz Ahmad of Sagra in Mankote, consumed some poisonous substance at the house of her-in-laws. She was rushed to Mendhar hospital where doctors referred her to District Hospital Rajouri in view of her serious condition.
Some altercation with the husband is believed to be the cause of provocation while Police has registered a case in this connection for further investigation.
Meanwhile, a Tata Mobile rolled into a deep gorge at Bhata Dhurrea, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Gursai, resulting into serious injuries to 18-year old driver and a 16- year old boy, who was traveling in the vehicle.
The injured, identified as Ayaz Ahmad (driver), son of Yar Mohd and Imran Ali, son of Mohd Sharief, both resident of Koynian, Poonch, were admitted in Surankot hospital.
