JAMMU, Mar 15: Department of Horticulture today appointed all Horticulture Development Officers (HDOs) as Insecticides Inspectors (IIs) within their respective territorial jurisdiction for inspection work.
According to a circular issued by the Secretary Horticulture Department, the Insecticides Inspectors would work in their new role within their respective territorial jurisdiction vide SRO 36 of 2015 dated February 2, 2015.
With seasonal use of pesticides, fungicides and allied products on fruit plants to start, the department impressed upon all the Insecticides Inspectors to start inspection work of stores, retail shops go-downs in their respective areas as per the provision of Insecticides Act and draw and send sample to the notified pesticide testing laboratories of the State.
The laboratories will ensure sending of reports for the samples within a week’s time, read the circular.
