Hora Ashtami celebrated with religious fervor, gaiety

JAMMU, Feb 20: Hora Ashtami festival falling prior to Mahashivratri was celebrated with religious fervor and gaiety by Kashmiri Pandit community.
In this connection night long bhajans and Kirtan were held in various Ashrams, temples and Asthapans in which a large number of people drawn from different areas participated.
A grand function was held during Sunday night at Bhagawaan Gopinath Ji Ashram Udaywala Bohri in this connection. The function was organized by Bhagawaan Gopinath Ji Trust. Hundreds of devotees thronged the Ashram for night long Jagran and offered prayers at the lotus feet of Bhagawaan Gopinath Ji.
The artists of repute Ravi Bhan, Iqbal Koul and others presented Bhakti Sangeet on this occasion. They held audience spell bound and the whole atmosphere got spiritually changed. The hall reverberated with bhajans and the devotees were enthralled.
The night long prayers were offered to invoke the blessings of the Mother Goddess followed by the mass prayer for peace and the well being of mankind. The religious function concluded with Bhagawaanji’s Aarti this morning.
The Hora Ashtami was also celebrated at Bhagawaanji’s Ashrams at Kharyar-Srinagar, Pamposh Enclave, New Delhi, Vikaspuri, West Delhi, Bengaluru, Pune, Maharashtra and also at various other centers and Satsang Mandals of the Trust across the country.
Another function was held at Kumar Ji Geeta Satsangh Ashram Muthi. The nightlong Bhajan Kirtan was held by the devotees and Swami Kumar Ji gave religious discourses highlighting the significance of the day.
Hora Ashtami was also celebrated at Pushkara Swami Sewa Ashram Trust Laxmipuram Chinore Bantalab with religious fervor and gaiety. The devotees thronged the Ashram from yesterday evening and participated in bhajan Kirtan under the lotus feet of Goddess.
Hora Ashtami was also celebrated at Kashmiri Sahik Samiti Trikuta Nagar. A large number of devotees participated in the function. Religious bhajans were sung by Rajesh Khar and party.
Hora Ashtami was also celebrated at KP Sabha Ambphalla where a night long function was held under the chairmanship of K P Sabha chief K K Khosa. The bhajans in the praise of Goddess were recited by the devotees during the entire night. They were served prashad after culmination of function.
Another function in connection with Hora Ashtami was held at Shiv Mandir Ajit Colony Gole Gujral Camp. The night long Bhajans and Kirtan reverberated the atmosphere. The president of Mandir Committee B L Kaul and its general secretary Badri Nath Jyotshi threw light on the significance of the day.
Hora Ashtami was also celebrated by the devotees of Anand Swami Pran Nath Bhat Gareeb at Sanjeevani Kutair Anand Nagar Bohri today.
