NEW DELHI, Feb 24:
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday visited All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here and inquired about the health of DIG Amit Kumar from Jammu and Kashmir.
Mr Kumar was severely injured in a recent counter terror operation in Pulwama.
“Visited AIIMS to inquire about the health of DIG Jammu and Kashmir Police. Amit Kumar who was severely injured in a recent counter terror operation in Pulwama,” the Home Minister tweeted.
“Officers like him lift the morale of forces with their action. I salute his courage and the bravery exhibited by his team,” Mr Singh said.
Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju visited AIIMS and inquired about Mr Kumar’s condition.
Posted as DIG (South Kashmir) Amit Kumar sustained injuries in the abdomen during an encounter in Pulwama district on February 18. He was later airlifted to AIIMS for treatment, officials said. (UNI)
