JAMMU, Jan 20: All J&K Home Guard Welfare Association held a protest demonstration under the leadership of its president, Kamla Sharma, here today, demanding implementation of Supreme Court (SC) order regarding extension of all benefits to Home Guards at par with police constables.
During the protest, Kamla Sharma accused the authorities for their slackness in implementing the Supreme Court order. “Though Supreme Court order has been implemented in various states of the Country like Delhi, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, MP, Gujarat and Rajasthan but in J&K it was not implemented till date, which is grave injustice with the Home Guards serving in the State”, she added.
She appealed all members of the State Legislative Assembly as well as State Ministers for taking up the issue of Home Guards in the budget session so that they may get their due rights.
