Large number of Home Guards assembled outside Press Club under the banner of All J&K Home Guard Welfare Association and held protest.
Amid slogans, the protestors demanded all facilities including enhancement in their monthly salaries at par with other home guards of different States.
While addressing the gathering, Kamla Sharma, president of the Association said that the previous Governments failed to redress their issues, for which they are raising their voice for the past several years.
Sharma said that Government of Madhya Pradesh has extended all benefits to the home guards like police personnel, adding that in Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Goa and Delhi, the home guards are availing all facilities like police personnel.
