Home for Aged & Infirm holds AGM

JAMMU, Dec 18: The annual general body (AGM) meeting of Home for the Aged and Infirm, Ambphalla, which is popularly known as ‘Vridh Ashram’ was held today under the chairmanship of its president, Prem Gupta, former IGP, J&K.
The annual report, audited accounts for the year 2015-16 and budget proposals for 2016-17 presented by secretary, Vijay Bhagotra, were adopted by the house, which appreciated the sincere efforts put in by the managing committee for the improvement in overall functioning of the Home and living conditions of its inmates.
During the meeting, Prem Gupta desired to be relieved from responsibility of president and therefore ID Soni and Vijay Bhagotra were unanimously elected as president and honorary secretary, respectively for a term of three years.
Male and female representatives of the inmates present expressed satisfaction with various amenities, facilities and medical care being provided to them by the Home. Meanwhile, ID Soni appealed for liberal donations in cash and kind on regular basis for day to day needs of the inmates and further improvement in their facilities and amenities as well as maintenance of requisite infrastructure and assets of the Home.
ID Soni also appealed the public at large to visit the Home at their convenience and interact with the inmates. This he said will help inmates not feel neglected by the society for whose welfare they had also contributed during their active past lives, as they are starving for emotional touch at this stage of their lives.
