Hold fair probe into deaths in GB Pant Hospital: Vakil

Excelsior Correspondent
SRINAGAR, July 1: Former Minister and Member AICC Abdul Gani Vakil expressed serious concern over the delay in bringing to logical conclusion the investigations that were conducted during the previous regime to ascertain the causes of  deaths of  infants in GB Pant Hospital, Srinagar and rampant purchase of substandard medicines by the Health Department.
In a press statement issued here today, Mr Vakil said that in the garb of floods these cases were put to back burner despite being related to human lives and no responsibility was fixed in either of the cases. He said that the innocent people of Kashmir have become the victim of Government apathy and same is the reason that till date nobody knows the outcome of inquiries or investigations which were ordered by previous Government in these overt and covert actions of genocide.
Mr Vakil said that it is immaterial whether the life is of a young person or an infant but after all human life is involved.  He  said that any move to dump the cases or conceal the facts or extending any favours to culprits is an unforgivable sin and crime.
The former Minister appealed the Chief Minister to personally look into these grave issues and order reinvestigation without any inordinate delay as the matter is directly related to precious human lives. Moreover, the faith of the common masses in the system does not get eroded and culprits don’t go scot free after committing the sin of genocide. He urged for fixing the responsibility in a time bound manner and an exemplary and deterrent punishment be recommended for culprits.
