Hoisting of National Flag, cultural programmes mark 68th Republic Day celebrations

JAMMU, Jan 27: Hoisting of National Flag and cultural programmes marked the celebrations of the 68th Republic Day.
Central Mahajan Sabha, Jammu celebrated 68th Republic Day Kavinder Gupta, Speaker, Legislative Assembly hoisted the National Flag in the presence of Rajesh Gupta, MLA Jammu East and Ramesh Arora, MLC, who were guests of honour. Vinod Gupta, President of the Sabha presented the welcome address, while Amar Chand Gupta acted as anchor. Dr Madan Gopal, Virinder Gupta, Ram Charan Gupta, Rattan Hindu, Prabhu Dayal Gupta, Sat Pal Gupta, Krishan Lal Gupta, Satish Gupta, Vijay Gupta, Dinesh Gupta, Shanti Devi, Ajay Gupta, Surinder Mohan Gupta, Bhushan Pargal, Darshan Gupta and Jagdish Gupta.
Republic Day was celebrated by Dogra Sadar Sabha J&K at DSS Bhawan, Jammu wherein large number of prominent citizens, besides office bearers and members of the Sabha participated. The National Flag was hoisted by Gulchain Singh Charak, Former Minister and President of the Sabha. The students of Jyoti Public School played the band and presented the National Anthem. Among others present were Dr NK Dogra, Prem Sagar Gupta, Gambhir Dev Singh Charak, Syed Amanat Ali Shah, RK Sharma, Er Satpal Langar, Ajmer Singh Charak, Ravi Singh Slathia, Balwinder Singh, etc.
Inner Wheel Club and Rotary Club Jammu celebrated Republic Day, Jammu wherein large numbers of club volunteers and civil society participated. The tricolour was hoisted, followed by National Anthem and patriotic songs. IWC team under the direction of Meena Jaggi went to Akhnoor and shared the suffering of war widows. Blankets were distributed among the war widows. Some eatables were also given to their children. Prominent those present were Gurvinder Kour, Paramjeet Kour, Nidhi Mahajan, Sangeeta Puri, Rampaul Dogra, social activist.
68th Republic Day was celebrated by the Jammu University SC/ST Employees Association with patriotic fervour. The Association President RL Kaith hoisted and saluted the National Flag and spoke about the sanctity of the occasion and the role played by the Constitution makers with particular reference to Bharat Ratna Dr BR Ambedkar. Association members paid glowing tributes to hundreds of martyrs who sacrificed their lives for their motherland and whose glory remained unsung. General Secretary Surjeet Singh Heer, Milkhi Ram, Sukhdev Bhagat, Bal Krishan, Ramesh Lal, Bodh Raj, Manoj Kumar, Vijay Kumar and Sunil Kumar were also present.
On the occasion of 68th Republic Day, a function was held in the office of Chamber of Traders Federation (CTF) in which Neeraj Anand, President, CTF unfurled the National Flag. Attar Singh, Chander Gulati and Vinod Sachdeva, Patrons and Parveen Gupta, Dinesh Gupta, Viney Gupta, Raman Gupta, Devinder Gupta, Rajesh Gupta, Shiv kumar Gupta, Yash Paul Abrol, Nek Ram Sharma and others were also present on the occasion.
To celebrate Republic Day, Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha organized a function. Ved Parkash Sharma hoisted the National Flag in presence of prominent members of the community. Verinder Magotra, Vice President, Satya Nand Sharma, Nanak Chand Sharma, ML Sharma, Dr SD Sharma, Advocate PC Sharma, Surinder Sharma, Shiv Ram Sharma and many others were also present on the occasion.
68th Republic Day was celebrated in Balgran-a charitable home for destitute children, Channi Rama. SS Sehgal, Executive President, J&K Bank Limited unfurled the National Flag, in presence of distinguished guest, donors, members of Balgran and children of Bal Bharti Public School. PV Rawal, Vice President of Balgran was also present on the occasion. Balgran honoured TR Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director, M/s TRG Industries Private Limited, Bahu Plaza, Viran Varu, Anil Gupta, Manisha Gupta and Vinay Gupta with certificates for their dedicated services and regular donations for the welfare of the inmates. Scholarships were also awarded to Sanjay Rathore, Snamaika Baryal and Pawan Singh Jamwal.
Raghunath Bazaar Businessmen Association celebrated the Republic Day. The National Flag hoisting ceremony was held at Raghunath Mandir Chowk, amidst playing of National Anthem and shouting of patriotic slogans. Prominent citizen and leading businessman Hira Lal Abrol, who was the chief guest on the occasion, hoisted the national flag. Bhubneshwar Gandotra, President Hotels and Lodges Association Trikuta Nagar and leading businessman Pawan Kalra were guests of honour. The celebration was held under the chairmanship of Baldev Khullar, President of the association. Among others present were Mohit Gupta, Senior Vice President, Madan Mohan Sharma Vice President, Sanjay Sethi General Secretary, Ashwani Kohli Secretary, Amit Kapoor Treasurer and Om Prakash Mahajan, Chairman Jammu Heritage Society.
Aadarsh Bhartiya Samaj celebrated 68th Republic Day with enthusiasm and gaiety at Bhour Camp. Col (Retd) Amolak Ram Sharma hoisted the National Flag. On the occasion, a colourful cultural programme was presented by the students of The Seminary Co-educational English Medium High School, Chatha. Jaspreet Kour, Prachi Raina, Parshuramakant Soodan, Akshit, Akshra, Abdi, Bhavi Bhatt, Prachi, Mahi, Sneha, Sonali, Vansh, Akshya, Prabhjot Singh and Sh Babu Ram Sharma participated in the cultural activities. Prominent among others present were Col (Retd) RK Sharma, Chairman ABS, Daljeet Singh, President ABS, Sudesh Sharma, Sukriti Sharma, Parshotam Sharma, Chairman Seminary School, Raksha Sharma, MD Seminary School, Pooja Salathia, Principal Seminary School, Dr Charanjeet Sharma, etc.
68th Republic Day was celebrated by Tawi Welfare Society, Sure Chak with full enthusiasm. RC Gupta, Chairman of the Society hoisted the National Flag in the presence of other dignitaries, prominent villagers of the locality. Among others present were Madan Lal Chaudhary, Kabi Raj, Yash Pal Sharma, Narinder Singh Chib, DSP Jagdev Singh Salathia, Surinder Gupta, Rajinder Singh Manhas, etc.
Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) celebrated 68th Republic Day. On the occasion, KK Joshi, renowned senior artist was the chief guest, who unfurled the National Flag along with ML Dogra, Former Regional Director Song and Drama Division, Hem Raj, Secretary and MC Kotwal General Secretary of BLSKS. Dr Tara Singh Charak Former Deputy Director, Health Department, JK Parihar, Former Music Instructor, Song and Drama Division and RP Amla, Former Field Publicity Assistant of Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting ,Government of India were the guest of honors. The programme commenced with National Anthem, followed by traditional cultural programme, which was presented by the students of music and computer institution, artists of BLSKS and Sangam Tru Art production. The renowned artistes namely Raju Bajgal, Hem Raj ,Rajni Gupta, Deevam Jandiyal, Rakshit Sharma, Druv Pandit, Mohammad Afroz Raaz, Shan Khan, Sant Das, Aryan Verma, Sonu Gupta, Bindiya, Sakshi, Ananaya, Ayush, Bhuwan, Manjeet, Ravi, Darshan, Ujwal, Yograj, Natasha, Mukesh, Nisha, Mukesh Singh, Sahil Kumar, Sunil Kumar and many others presented the enthralled performance. In the end, Master Deepak Kumar presented vote of thanks.
Udhampur Development Council (UDC) organized a function to celebrate 68th Republic Day. On the occasion, Anil Paba, President UDC hoisted the National Flag in presence of Parvesh Parihar, General Secretary, Vikas Padha, Rakesh Padha and other UDC members.
Dogra Saddar Sabha Udhampur organized a function to commemorate Republic Day. On the occasion, Krishan Kumar, President DSS Udhampur hoisted National Flag in presence of Arvind Manhas, General Secretary, Sanjeev Sharma, Dr Kapil, Vikas Sharma, Rakesh padha and other DSS members.
Canal Road Walkers Welfare Association (CRWWA) celebrated 68th Republic Day. The programme started with National Flag hoisting jointly by Prof MS Nargal, President and Hoshnak Singh Jamwal, Finance Secretary. People from all walks of life participated in the programme. VK Sharma, General Secretary, Kalawati Jain, executive members including Onkar Singh Charak and Dr MR Sharma also attended the function.
National Incredible Literacy Mission (NILM), Jammu celebrated Republic Day. The National Flag was hoisted by Rakeshwar Singh, Project Director, NILM, followed by cultural programme. Prizes were distributed among the winners and participants. KD Kurhan, Chairman NILM also greeted the nation on the eve of Republic Day.
Narwal Pain Mohalla Welfare Committee, Satwari Cantt celebrated 68th Republic Day. The National Flag was hoisted by Hardev Singh, Member, Cantonment Board in presence of Madan Raj Kaith, Master Naresh Kumar, Surinder Chib, Havildar Des Raj Kaith, DC Raja, Tarsem Lal, Sham Lal, Vijay Kumar, Bishan Lal and Dharam Pal.
Mera Sahara Women Welfare Trust celebrated Republic Day, in which large number of school childern, trust functionaries and poor beneficiaries took part. Chairman of the Trust Rama Kumari unfurled the National Flag, followed by National Anthem. Rampaul Dogra, a social activist, Santosh Bandral, singer, Bindia, Niyaz Ahmed, Kuldeep Singh, Ashu, Meenakshi, Davinder Bakshi, social activist and organiser were honored by the Trust. 200 warm clothes were distributed among the poor ladies by the management committee of the trust.
Jan Kalayan Morcha Jammu celebrated 68th Republic Day, wherein people from all walks of life participated. Gurdev Singh President, Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee was the chief guest, who along with Master Yog Raj, Neter Parkash, Balbir Singh and Rajesh Khajuria, President Jan Kalayan Morcha unfurled the National Flag amid singing of National Anthem.
68th Republic Day was celebrated at Adarsh Colony Udhampur. Surinder Singh Khalsa, President Beopar Mandal along with other citizens unfurled the National Flag, followed by National Anthem and distribution of sweets.
Republic Day was celebrated in Shri Swami Vishwatma Nand Sadhbhawana Charitable Trust, Sunderbani with traditional fervour. The National Flag was unfurled by Swami Ji Maharaj, followed by National Anthem by the students of Model Academy, Shiv Kashi Sunderbani. Administrator of the complex was also present on the occasion.
68th Republic Day was celebrated by Public Welfare Organization in collaboration with Lavish Social and Educational Trust, in which besides their office bearers large number of people participated. Vinod Pandita, Chairman, LSET, Inderjeet Raina, social workers, Bunty, Seema Gupta, Sunita Kumar and various others expressed their views and highlighted the importance of the day. In the end, Soni, President, PWO presented vote of thanks.
All J&K Mahasha Sadar Sabha and Guru Nabha Dass Maharaj Trust jointly celebrated Republic Day under the chairmanship of MD Dardi, Chairman of the Trust and Dr ML Rao, Working President. On the occasion, National Flag was unfurled, followed by National Anthem. Among others present were ND Rajwal, General Secretary of the Trust, BD Naryal, Secretary, Bodh Raj Rao, Managing Trustee, Khilari Lal, Cashier, Som Raj Taroch, Managing Trustee and other members of the Trust.
Water Works (PHE) Employees Association celebrated 68th Republic Day. The National Flag was hoisted by Shiv Kumar Sharma, State President of Indian National Trade Union Congress, who is also Provincial President of the Association. He also threw light on the importance of the day.
Hundreds of employees of PHE Department celebrated Republic Day in the office premises of Assistant Executive PHE City Sub Division Dounthly. Bakshi Singh, Provincial President of the Association hoisted the National Flag and highlighted the importance of the day.
Janipur Residents Welfare Association celebrated Republic Day at Ward Number 37, Janipur Colony under the pesidentship of Anil Kohli. The members of the association unfurled the National Flag, followed by National Anthem. Children as well as ladies and senior citizens took part in the programme. Rajinder Puri, General Secretary, Vikas Gupta, Organising Secretary, Prof KL Verma, Dr JP Gupta, Prof KK Kapoor, Parshotam Verma and many others were present on the occasion.
Bharat Vikas Parishad, Gandhi Nagar Branch celebrated 68th Republic Day. Chief Organiser Bhopal Dutta, Secretary, Dr Ashok Kumar Sharma and Treasuere Jagjit Singh Isher organized the function. SN Sharma, an octogenarian was the chief guest, who hoisted the National Flag in presence of Dev Raj Sharma, Prant President, Amita Sharma, Vijay Sharma, Champa Gupta, Prof Dr Bharat Bhushan Sharma, PN Bali, Ravi Gupta and many others.
Republic Day was celebrated by Jagti Tenement Committee and Soan Kashmir Front, wherein President Shadi Lal Pandita hoisted the National Flag in presence of office bearers and members of both the fronts.
Jammu and Kashmir Christian Association celebrated Republic Day, wherein the National Flag was hoisted by SM Gill, Ex-MLC in presence of President of the Association Advocate Waris Gill and Rev Udhai Singh, Incharge Priest, St Paul’s Church, Residency Road. Prominent persons including Feastus Soltra, Danial Bhatti, Markas Sotra, Hamid Gill, Som Masih, Mushtaq Gill, Mohammad Ismail, Sunny Gill and Sahil Gill were present on the occasion.
Jammu Dogra Warriors celebrated Republic Day at Dewan-e-Aam, Mubarak Mandi. Varun Magotra, Chairman of Jammu Dogra Warriors along with Zorawar Singh Janwal, Chairman Team Jammu, Madan Thakur, Arun Kumar, Raju, Viraj Sharma, Salman Khan, Deepak Sharma and others saluted the sacrifices made by the great leaders of India.
BVP Jammu East celebrated Republic Day at Bal Niketan, Ambphalla, wherein Joint Commissioner, JMC, RK Jamwal was the chief guest. After unfurling the National Flag, a colourful cultural programme was presented by the children of Bal Niketan. The programme was attended by Dev Raj Sharma, State President, Amita Sharma, Vijay Sharma, Hopal Sharma, Rakesh Gupta, Jyotsna Sharma, President, BVP Jammu East and many others.
National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) celebrated Republic Day at Pacca Danga Chowk, where President of the NMC Subash Shastri unfurled the National Flag in presence of BS Jamwal (Ex DC), Rajinder Kumar Raju, Mohammad Shafi, Satinder Kumar and others. A large number of social activists, employees and people from different walk of life were also present. Among others present were Rajan Babu Khajuria, Sunil Kochhar, Darshan Bawa, Sahib Khajuria, Bopinder Singh, Sardhri Lal, Swaran Bhagat, Vijay Bhagat, Sukhdev Singh, Tarseem and Sudesh Bhagat.
To commemorate 68th Republic Day, the members of NGO Jiyo Aur Jeene Do organized a programme at Tilak Nagar in Udhampur. The National Flag was hoisted by the President of NGO Tariq Shah in the presence of large number of people, followed by National Anthem. The members of the NGO present on the occasion were Sanjay, Ramrattan, Baldev, Aqib, Dev, Varinder, Dhruv, Ali, Asiya and Kanta Devi.
68th Republic Day was celebrated at Ward No 52, Trikuta Nagar. The function organised by BJP Mahila Morcha President of Ward No 52, Krishnpriya Dhar was witnessed by large number of people. The National Flag was unfurled by BJP State President Mahila Morcha, Purnima Sharma, followed by National Anthem and patriotic songs by little children.
The members of Team Jammu celebrated 68th Republic Day in separate flag hoisting functions organized in different parts of the city including Shakti Nagar, Rehari Chowk, Dancing Institution at New Rehari Colony and historic Mubarak Mandi, here.
While urging the people of Jammu and Kashmir especially of Jammu region to follow the path shown by great leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Atal Behari Vajpayee, Team Jammu Chairman Zorawar Singh Jamwal today cautioned nationalist forces to check the increasing number of foreign nationals like Rohingyas and Bangladeshis here in Jammu, which will virtually become a threat to Independence as well as Republic one day, if not checked and deported immediately. Among others who spoke on the occasion included Surinder Sharma, Uttam Singh Chib, Varun Mangotra, Chairman, Jammu Dogra Warriors, Narinder Sharma, Sachin Singh Jamwal, Anil Kumar, Sanju Sharma, Guga Verma, Arun Khanna and Chandan Datta.
Republic Day was celebrated by Roop Nagar Welfare Association at JDA Club, Sector 3 Roop Nagar. Chairman of the Association Uttam Deep Sharma unfurled the National Flag amid chanting of National Anthem. A colourful cultural programme was presented by the children of Twinkle Play Way School Roop Nagar. The best performers were awarded with prizes. President and other members of the Association were also present on the occasion.
On the occasion of 68th Republic Day, the National Flag was hoisted in Fountain Park, Sector-4, Channi Himmat by Rakesh Gupta, President of Development Committee alongwith other committee members and residents of the vicinity.
J&K Samaj Kalyan Kendra Higher Secondary School for Hearing Handicapped Boys and Girls celebrated 68th Republic Day. The students, teaching faculty and parents attended the function, besides some life members and members of Kendra Management Body. Differently abled girl student hoisted the National Flag which was followed by National Anthem sung in unison with full vigour. Cultural items were presented by the school children on the occasion which were appreciated by all present.
