Hockey Foundation USA lifts Indo-Canadian Ice Hockey Friendship Cup

Leh, Jan, 22: The Hockey Foundation (HF) USA lifted the Indo-Canadian Friendship Cup played at Karzoo Ice Hockey Rink, here today.
The match was organized by Ladakh Winter Sports Club.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Moses Kuzang was chief guest on the occasion.
Playing against New Delhi Sacred Bulls, HF USA was lagging behind with 2 goals in the first half. However, soon during the second half play HF USA bounced back to score two goals in quick succession.
Taking the tally further ahead, HF USA scored five more goals to take the total tally to 7 goals, while Delhi Sacred Bulls managed to score a lone goal during the second half, thus HF USA won the match by 7 goals to 3 goals.
Ladakh Winter Sports Club (LWSC) President Nima Namgyal Gyapo informed that LWSC and Hockey Foundation USA will organize the Guinness World Record Highest Altitude Ice Hockey Tournament on February 4 and 5, 2018 at Durbuk, wherein 4 to 5 International teams will be participating to play at the Highest Ice Hockey Rink in the World.
Talking to media, Canadian High Commission, Jess Detton appreciated the organizers for conducting matches.
HF USA Player, Alexis Daudelin, who had been coming to Ladakh since last year said, that it was tough to play at this altitude because of lack of oxygen, adding that he enjoyed playing with locals.
Later-on, chief guest distributed the prizes to winners and runners-up teams.
