HM’s announcement totally biased: MJR-47

JAMMU, June 10: MJR-47, Movement for Justice for refugees of 1947 from PoJK, highly resented  the outcome of Union Home Minister’s visit to J&K State.
A spokesman of the organizations said  the irony of the system is that non-entities are being given preference over the most deserving people.  He said MJR-47 appreciates  announcement by HM long awaited relief of Rs 5.5 lakh/ family to West Pakistan refugees on the pattern being given to PoJK 1947- Chhamb DP’s, but PoJK 1947 DP’s feel left high and dry. Even Kashmir valley migrants’ monthly doles/ allowance has been increased from Rs. 10000  to Rs 13000 per family, an increase of 30% a more than double in the last 3 years after take over by BJP. How come the PoJK DP’s who are first party to the Kashmir imbroglio , saviour of state in the tribal raid of 1947, have history of long sufferings and having given supreme sacrifice are not given justice.
Against recommendations of Rs 30 lakh per DP family by Parliamentry Standing Committee in its report 183, and State Govt recommendations of Rs 25 lakh in Oct  2014,  only Rs 5.5 lakh is being given to DP’s, which is an insult for DP’s, that too, after making the entire disbursement process cumbersome, time consuming and full of other procedural wrangles. The net result is that less than 30% claims have been settled so far in last about two years.
“We appreciate special employment package for all those who are living within 5 km of border instead of earlier order for those living along LoC only. But what about those DP’s of 1947, who have come from across the border and whose case stands recommended by state as well as by DRPSC. Why this injustice? Should we call it planning or crisis planning without any long term vision and policy ?” the spokesman added.
This is highly biased attitude of Central as well as State Govt towards PoJK DP’s. There is strong resentment in DP families and if not given justice, the DP’s will show their might and give befitting reply to the party in the coming elections, he maintained.
