HM militant held in Kishtwar

JAMMU, Sept 4: Kishtwar police today achieved a major success when it arrested a wanted militant of Hizbul Mujahideen outfit, who was evading arrest since July 1 when other members of his outfit were captured along with arms, ammunition and explosives.
SSP Kishtwar Rajinder Gupta identified the arrested militant as Touseef Ahmad Gundna son of Ghulam Nabi Gundna R/o Mohalla Jamia Masjid, Kishtwar.
Sources said the arrested militant was being subjected to interrogation and arrest of another militant, based on his disclosures, is not ruled out.
Gundna was being searched by Kishtwar Police since July 1 when two militants of Hizbul Mujahideen were arrested along with arms, ammunition and explosives and a terror plan was thwarted.
Today, a police party headed by Manoj Kumar, DySP DAR under the supervision of SSP Rajinder Gupta raided a hideout and arrested Gundna, who was also involved in case FIR No. 41/2017 under Sections 7/25 Arms Act and 3/5 Explosives Act of Parimpora, Srinagar.
Police said one more arrest in the case was expected.
Gundna was a hardcore motivator and had been luring youth into militancy. He was close associate of Hizbul Mujahideen militant Mohammad Amin alias Jehangir. He was also in touch with another militant in Latti in 2017 Gundna had a meeting with Jehangir and had acted as conduit for transferring money to Jehangir’s wife.
Police said the militant activities would come down in Kishtwar district with the arrest of accused.
