Hit and run case solved, accused driver arrested

SAMBA, Dec 30: Bari Brahmana Police solved a hit and run case with the arrest of accused driver.
As per police sources, on December 18, an unknown vehicle driven by unknown driver hit a pedestrian lady identified as Sita Devi, wife of Ram Brij, a resident of Dollian, Bari Brahmana near railway crossing Bari Brahmana.
The profusely bleeding victim was shifted to GMC Jammu, where she failed to respond to the treatment and succumbed to her injuries.
A case under FIR Number 225/17 under Section 279, 337 and 304-A RPC was registered at Bari Brahmana and investigation of the case was entrusted to Head Constable Daleep Singh.
During Investigation, the Investigation Officer made liaison with President of Transport Union Bus Stand Jammu and got details about the buses plying from Jammu to Kathua on December 18.
Later, the bus bearing registration number JK08C-7073 by which the victim lady got killed was identified at Balole Bridge Bari Brahmana and seized. The accused driver identified as Ramesh Kumar, son of Chandu Ram of Kho Mandli tehsil Billawar district Kathua has been taken into custody.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
The investigation of the case was carried out under the supervision of SHO Bari Brahmana Inspector Mahesh Sharma, SDPO Bari Brahmana Usman Choudhary and SSP Samba Anil Magotra.
