Hiranagar Hockey Club seals berth in finals

JAMMU, Feb 6: Defeating MBS Hockey Club Simbal Camp by seven goals to four (7-4), Hiranagar Hockey Club sealed berth in the finals of the Jammu District Senior Hockey Tournament, being organized by Hockey J&K at KK Hakhu Astroturf Stadium, here.
Though, MBS Hockey Club scored the first goal early in the 2nd minute of the match through Jimmy, but Hiranagar Hockey Club came back strongly to score back to back goals in 10th and 14th minutes respectively through Rommy. For BMS Club, Jimmy scored hat-trick and Satwant netted the remaining one, while for Hiranagar Club, apart from Rommy, Dig Vijay (2) Rohit Sharma (1) and Suraj Singh (1) were the goal scorers.
Tejinder Singh, veteran Hockey player was the chief guest in today’s proceedings, while prominent among others present on the occasion were Rajinder Singh, TP Singh, Amarjit Singh, Guecharan Singh and GS Bakshi.
The match was officiated by Iqbal Singh, Jagjeet Singh, Satvir Singh, Joginder Singh, Karamjeet Singh and JS Reen.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Khalsa Club Gole Gujral will take on Guru Nanak Nagar Hockey Club at 2 pm in second semifinal.
