GOA, June 10: The five day long All India Hindu convention which culminated here today passed resolutions demanding the abrogation of Article 370 forthwith, asks the Government of India to initiate a conclusive dialogue with the Kashmiri Hindu representatives for resettlement of the community in the Kashmir Valley as per Margdarshan resolution of 1991 and appealed the Government of Jammu and Kashmir to grant complete citizenship rights to the West Pakistan refugees living in the State since 1947-48.”
The resolution said “the Jammu and Kashmir State has been passing through a very crucial phase of its history due to large scale violence caused by Islamic terrorism. While the K Ps have been forced to leave Kashmir in 1989-90 by the religious zealots, they continue to live outside their homes as refugees in their own country.
The convention appreciated their struggle for survival for more than two decades now, and recognized their claim to their land of ancestors i.e., Kashmir. It also expressed its complete sympathy and solidarity to the cause of the displaced Hindus of the State. It showed concern about the situation being faced by the refugees of 1947 who are living as second class citizens in J & K and other parts of the country. It also placed on record that Article 370 of the Indian Constitution has provided a Constitutional mechanism, which is responsible for the secessionist movement in the Jammu and Kashmir.
In the convention PK made a very forceful presentation on the settlement of surrendered militants. Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, President, PK while addressing the convention raised the issues of KPs, refugees of 1947 and terrorism in the convention. The convention was attended by three hundred delegates from a number of countries. Chrungoo also made a power point presentation on the report on policy and procedure for rehabilitation of the ex-militants in Jammu and Kashmir and drew attention of the delegates to the secessionist movement in the State which has got the direct support of the Pakistan establishment.
