Highway attack: Two ultras killed, LeT claims responsibility for ambush

SRINAGAR: Two militants were neutralised in an encounter which ensued after an Army convoy was attacked by Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) on Srinagar-Jammu national highway in Kulgam district on Monday afternoon.

LeT has claimed responsibility for the attack on the Army convoy. A soldier and a civilian were injured in the firefight. The house from where the militants were firing was blasted by the security forces and firing has stopped, official sources said. 

Director General of Police (DGP) DR S P Vaid said bodies of two militants have been recovered and search operation was still going on. Taking to microblogging site Twitter, Dr Vaid said,”Two bodies of terrorists recovered. Search still on.”  (AGENCIES)
