Hideout busted in Shopian

Srinagar, Jan 30: Security forces today busted a militant hideout in Shopian area of South Kashmir and recovered a Self Loading Rifle (SLR) which was snatched by militants from Police last year.
Police said that acting on a tip off about the presence of militants in Tranz area of Shopian, Shopian Police along with 44 RR  of Army launched search operation in the orchards of village Baba Khadar of Tranz area.
They said that during the search operation one  hideout was busted inside a tin shed in one of the orchards of Tranz area.
“One SLR which was snatched by militants from guard at Samnoo Kulgam in October last year, 2 magazines of SLR, 37 SLR rounds, 2 RPG, one grenade, 503 AK rounds, one AK magazine, one ammunition pouch, one solar charger, one charger pin and a small black pouch containing medicines and a nail cutter were recovered from it”, said Police.
A case (FIR number 09/2017) was registered in Police Station Shopian and investigation was taken up.
