HI announces cash award

NEW DELHI, June 18: After clinching Silver medal in the 36th FIH Champions Trophy, Hockey India (HI) announced a cash prize of Rs two lakh each for the players and the Head Coach Roelant Oltmans and Rs one lakh  for all other coaches.

After goalless 60 minutes of regulation play against World champion Australia, India were handed a 1-3 defeat in a dramatic shoot-out at the summit clash, late last night.

”Hockey India, the apex body for hockey in India, announced a cash prize of Rs two lakh each for the players and the Head Coach Roelant Oltmans and Rs one lakh  for all other coaches and  support staff on the account of the brilliant performance India displayed throughout the tournament and for winning the silver medal,” Hockey India said in an official statement.
