JAMMU, May 21: After busting cross-border narcotic smuggling racket operating from Khour, five more packets of heroin weighting 2.5 kilograms valuing Rs 12.5 crore in the international market and Rs 4.49 lakh Indian currency were seized from the house of the associate of the lady trans-border smuggler, who was nabbed on May 8.
As per police sources, the woman trans-border smuggler arrested on May 8 by Khour police identified as Preeto Devi, wife of Late Sarfu Ram of Camp Khour during interrogation revealed hiding of more heroin packets in the house of her associate namely Ajeet Kumar alias Kala, son of Om Parkash of Khour.
On her disclosure, police team led by SDPO Akhnoor Naresh Singh and SHO Khour police station SI Mohammad Iqbal Chagatta conducted raid and seized five more packets of heroin weighting around 2.5 kilograms valuing Rs 12.5 crore in the international market, Rs 4,49,900 Indian currency and gold necklace weighing 3 to 4 tolas from the house of Ajeet Kumar.
However, Ajeet Kumar is still evading his arrest.
Further investigation into the case registered under 29/15 under Section 8/21/22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act with Khour police station is going on.
