Hero Club, Shaheen FC register wins

JAMMU, Feb 16: Hero Club and Shaheen Football Club scripted convincing victories over their rivals to advance in the ongoing 1st Maharaja Hari Singh Memorial Gold Cup Football Tournament, being organized under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) at GGM Science College Football ground, here.
In the first match played today, Hero Club defeated Climate Club by a solitary goal (1-0). Shivam Gupta was the goal scorer.
In another match, Shaheen Club defeated Param FC by five goals to three (5-3) via tie-breaker.
Earlier, both the teams scored one goal each in the stipulated time, while in the tie-breaker Shaheen Club emerged winner by 5-3. For Shaheen Club, Arjun, Khoom Bhadur, Vivekpal Singh, Rithay Mehra and Kamaljeet netted the goals, while Sunil, Brajinder and Vardhan were the goal scorers for Param FC.
The matches were officiated by Rockey Kumar, Hilal Ahmad, Dheeraj Menia, Suresh Gupta, Vijay Kumar, Rahul Sharma, Ramesh Kumar and Mohinder Kalsi (Physio).
In tomorrow’s fixture, Young Hero’s will take on Jammu Sports at 3:30 pm.
