Heritage Society seeks time bound completion of Mubarak Mandi renovation work

JAMMU, Mar 13: A meeting of the Jammu Heritage Society was held here today under the chairmanship of its president Bhuvneshwar Gandotra for highlighting various issues, concerning renovation of Mubarak Mandi heritage complex.
The meeting was attended by Baldev Khullar (Ex president), Sanjay Sethi, Paras Mahajan, Vinod Malhotra and other office bearers namely Om Prakash, Ashwani Arora, Sanjeev Kalra, Ajesh Rohmetra, Sanjay Mahajan and Amit Goel.
The members expressed their satisfaction that Governor Satya Pal Malik was taking keen interest in developing Mubarak Mandi, seat of erstwhile Dogra rulers of J and K State, a subject the Society has been pursuing for the last so many years.
Bhuvneshwar Gandotra highlighted the fact that the Society had already presented memorandum on the subject to Khurshid Ahmed Ganai, Advisor to the Governor; Sanjeev Verma, Divisional Commissioner Jammu and O P Bhagat, Director Tourism Jammu, highlighting the importance of development of Mubarak Mandi.
Bhuvneshwar Gandotra stressed for getting a Trade Mark for Mubarak Mandi as has been done for Hotel Taj in Mumbai, and release of a souvenir and logo of Mubarak Mandi, which shall further promote Tourism of Jammu.
“We request the Governor to look into our demands and ensure time bound completion of Mubarak Mandi renovation project besides developing Sheesh Mahal in the complex and restore it on priority basis to its original state,” said Bhuvneshwar Gandotra who also suggested that experts from Amritsar and Rajasthan be consulted for the reconstruction, renovation and development.
The Society reiterated its demand and request for an appointment with the Governor to present its point of view in person. The Society also requested the Governor to look into the affairs of Kala Kendra Jammu, of which he is the Chairman.
