Heritage School organizes Global Citizen Education Workshop

JAMMU, July 17: A two days Workshop under the aegis of AFS International programs, a non-governmental, non-profit voluntary organization was held at Heritage School, here today.
The aim of the Workshop was to develop intercultural competence that helps to bridge gaps and connects people for peaceful work.
Sarita Badhwar was the resource person, who is Consultant School Relations and ICL Responsible Think Tank Member Schools, AFS India, a former mistress at Daly College, Indore with 38 years of experience in the field of education.
The first day saw the teachers bracing and learning how to mitigate dynamics of building cultural competencies, community development core values of dignity, respect for differences and awareness of the intercultural skills amongst the students.
On the concluding day, the interaction and orientation session of the students was conducted.
The students were briefed about the intercultural skills that equip them with the ability to understand different cultural contexts and viewpoints, working with diverse teams, facing unprecedented challenges and opportunities.
The resource person urged all the students to build a just, peaceful, inclusive and sustainable society and advance UN’s sustainable goals.
The highly enriching and interactive workshop was well received by all as it broadened the perspective of the participants about themselves and the world around them.
