JAMMU, Dec 27: Heritage School grounds wore a festive and colourful look as the school celebrated its Annual Athletic Meet 2016, here today.
Students of classes VI to XI enthusiastically participated in the event. Sunita Gupta, Chairperson, Heritage School graced the occasion as the chief guest.
The day began by hoisting the school flag which was followed by a synchronized and well coordinated march past that saw cadets from all the four Houses of the school. Master Shaurankar Sharma, sports captain carried the torch and later the Principal declared the Meet open.
The ground resonated with the soulful rendition of the school song and thereafter the track events thrilled everyone. The most awaited events were the 400 meters and the relay races.
The Principal in his address reiterated the importance of games and sports is a student’s life. He stressed that ‘a healthy mind resides in a healthy body’ and hence students must strive to be physically fit.
Archana Sharma, senior coordinator, presented the vote of thanks. The day culminated with the singing of the National Anthem instilling patriotic fervour in one and all present.
