Heritage School celebrates Annual Day

JAMMU, Dec 13: Heritage School Jammu celebrated Annual Day of Primary School (III-V) at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu here today.
On the occasion, Major General Naveen Kumar Airy, ADG, NCC, J&K, Jammu was the chief guest and Anoo Malhotra, Director Technical Education Jammu was guest of honour.
The function began with the auspicious lighting of the lamp followed by welcome address by Sehaj Satish Sharma, the Junior Head Boy of the school.
The cultural extravaganza ‘Katha Sagar-a journey of the search within’, revolved around how an introvert draws inspiration from the life stories of some great personalities such as Mahatma Gandhi, Rabindra Nath Tagore, Nelson Mandela, Stephen Hawking, Charlie Chaplin and Muhammad Ali. It impressed upon the need to look within and find strength to become a winner in life. It witnessed participation of almost 600 students who worked tirelessly and enthusiastically under the expert guidance of four young and very talented choreographers from Moove Abstract Arts and Entertainment Private Limited New Delhi.
At the prize giving ceremony, the Anoo Malhotra felicitated the winners in Sahodaya Sports Competition. Archit Pandoh (IV E) won 1 Silver and 1 Bronze medals in Skating. Samarth Gupta (V-D) won 2 Bronze medals, Arshiya Bhardwaj (V-B) won 1 Bronze medal, Aditi Bargotra (V-B) won 1 Gold and 1 Bronze medals and Abhiraj Rai Gupta (IV F) won 1 Silver and 2 Bronze medals in Swimming. Medhansh Sharma (III-D) was presented with a trophy for ‘Outstanding Achievement in Sports for 2018-19’ for winning 12 Silver and 3 Bronze medals in Skating Competitions at various levels.
Major General Naveen Kumar Airy awarded the winners of ‘All Rounder’ trophies for the session 2017-18 to Archit Pandoh (IV E), Rujla Mahajan (IV F), Amiteshwar Singh (V F), Sehaj Satish Sharma (V F), Vishav Gupta (VI) and Atharv Dabgotra(VI). The ‘Best House’ trophy among juniors was lifted by Culture House.
Sunil Gupta, Chairman of the school presented mementoes to chief guest and guest of honour.
Major General Naveen Kumar Airy in his address emphasized on the fact that the problems in life can be overcome with self discipline and self motivation. He also spoke about the significance of NCC training right from a young age in shaping the personality of a child.
In the end, Vandana Jasrotia, Headmistress, Heritage School presented the vote of thanks.
