Heritage school celebrates 14th Annual Day

JAMMU, Oct 22: Two days cultural fest of Heritage School commenced with great zest and zeal on 22nd October 2018 in the General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu.
Major General Sanjay Singh, SM, VSM , GOC, 26 Infantry Division was the Chief Guest for the momentous occasion and Mrs. Rita Singh, Director, Indirapuram group of institutions and an educator par excellence was the worthy Guest of Honour. The event was graced abundantly by the presence of distinguished guests, members of media and parents of classes IX to XII.
The theme of the event ‘Dare to Dream’- a musical extravaganza showcased how humble beginnings combined with hard work and perseverance weave the success story of a person. The efforts of the students were a reiteration of the fact that nothing is impossible when dreams are backed by action.
The programme began with the lighting of the auspicious lamp by the esteemed guests. It was followed by a formal welcome by the head girl, Ishmeet Kaur. Ms Mahendra Kanwar, the Vice Principal, read the school report highlighting the achievements and accolades of the school in the preceding session 2017-18.
The red letter day also saw the felicitations of meritorious students of class 10th who scored 90% and above in AISSE 2017-18 by their sheer hard work. These students were given a cash prize of Rs.10,000 each by the school management. Ten students were conferred with golden pockets for securing 91% and above for three successive years in four main subjects of study. Ms. Anveksha Sharma, Ms. Mehak Verma and Mr. Hardik Gupta were awarded with the special commendation trophies for excelling at national level in Essay Writing and Declamation respectively. Agastya Bajaj, Anveksha Sharma and Saksham Sharma were presented with Academic Blazers for showing excellence in academics for 4 consecutive years. Prikshit Jamwal, topper in the science stream and Ayush Mahajan, commerce stream topper of class 12th AISSCE 2018 were awarded medallions for their pursuit of excellence. Dignity House was the proud recipient of the coveted house trophy which is compiled after considering various inter-house events.
The audience were also left spellbound by the school choir ‘Minstrels of Melody’ who presented a musical extravaganza-an aural and visual delight. The cultural event was conceptualized and directed by Delhi based choreographers ‘Moove Abstract’. The entire programme was a confluence of foot-tapping dance numbers and dramatics by the budding talents of Heritage school. The spectra of colour, costume and creativity lent a special charm to the evening.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest Major General Sanjay Singh, SM, VSM applauded the painstaking efforts of the students and their brilliant performance in putting up such a spectacular show. He congratulated the efforts of the Heritage faculty for imparting values and education that is essential to shape the future of the learners as global citizens.
The programme culminated with the rendition of the National Anthem and presentation of the vote of thanks by Mr. Jagdish Singh Dhami, Principal, who was all praise for the immaculate efforts of the staff and the students.
