JAMMU, Jan 8: Hemant Kumar Sharma, Commissioner Secretary Transport inaugurated the 1st Road Safety T20 Championship in an impressive function at Parade ground, here today.
The tournament is being jointly organized by Road Safety Department and District Police Jammu.
SSP RK Bhat and Rajesh Gill are the coordinators of the event.
In the opening match, Strikers Club defeated KC Sports Club by 17 runs. Batting first, Strikers Club scored 137 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. Ram (33), Aryan (24) and Hinan (23) were the main scorers. Vicky took 2 wickets, while Vijay, Anchal and Arjun claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, KC Sports Club managed to score 120 runs in 18.4 overs, thus lost the match by 17 runs. Arjun Choudhary top scored with 32 runs, while Anchal contributed 26 runs to the total.
Danish and Arshad took 3 wickets each while Sahil and Asif claimed 1 wicket each. Ram was adjudged as man of the match.
