JAMMU, May 10: Pakistan army tonight opened heavy shelling and firing along the Line of Control (LoC) in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district in violation of ceasefire.
Reports said Pakistan opened firing with automatic weapons followed by shelling at Sher Makri and Numb Kaladi areas of Nowshera sector in Rajouri district around 11 pm.
The Indian side retaliated, leading to heavy exchanges, they said, adding there were reports that Pakistan army could try to facilitate infiltration attempts by the militants under the cover of firing.
However, there were no reports of any casualties or damage on the Indian side in the firing and shelling. Casualties, if any, on the other side were not known.
