JAMMU, Jan 7: In the ongoing CII T-20 Corporate Cricket League, HDFC Bank defeated Aircel XI by 7 wickets at KC Sports Club, here today.
Touseef Majid scored unbeaten 75 and helped HDFC Bank to register a convincing victory over Aircel XI.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Aircel XI scored a modest total of 127 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. HDFC Bank chased the total convincingly in 17th over.
Anand Tripathi scored 60 runs in 45 balls, while Sunil contributed 19 runs. For HDFC Bank, Khalid Khan and Waseem Mir claimed two wickets each. Jasvinder Singh took 2 wickets for Aircel XI.
Touseef Majid was declared as the man of the match for his brilliant 75, studded with 9 fours and a six.
In another high scoring match played at KC Sports Club, Sun n Sand defeated PDD with a margin of 76 runs.
Batting first, Sun n Sand scored a huge total of 210 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Atul and Mohil Bhat scored 55 runs each, while Rohan contributed 39 runs to the total. For PDD, Mavjot and Kailash took 2 wickets each. Replying to a total of 210, PDD managed to score 134 for 9 wickets and lost the match by a big margin of 76 runs. Atul was declared as man of the match.
The CII T-20 Corporate Cricket League is being organized by Vivek Bhardwaj, Head Confederation of Indian Industry, in association with HDFC Bank, KC Sports club and Media XI. CII, keeping up with its promise to promote sports in J&K is organizing the first edition of CII Corporate Cricket League. 10 teams from Corporate Sector, Banks and Government Departments are competing for the title trophy.
