JAMMU, Nov 5: High Court today directed Jammu Development Authority (JDA) to take a decision on the proposal for allotment of alternate site to Modern Hotel Pvt Ltd within a period of two months.
The direction was passed in a petition filed by Modern Hotel Pvt Ltd seeking directions to the JDA against evicting the petitioner from the land measuring 10 marlas, which is under the possession of the petitioner as Lessee of Jammu Development Authority.
The petitioner alternatively prayed for a direction to the Jammu Development Authority to allot an alternate site in the adjoining area.
After hearing both the sides, Justice Alok Aradhe disposed of the petition with the direction to the Vice Chairman, Jammu Development Authority to take a decision on the proposal for allotment of alternate site to the petitioner, if the decision has not already been taken. “The authority shall decide the same by passing a speaking order within a period of two months”, Justice Aradhe said.
