HC stays transfer of IFS officer made at behest of ex-Minister

JAMMU, June 30: High Court has stayed the transfer of IFS officer made at the behest of former Forest Minister Rajiv Jasrotia.
The order was passed in a petition filed by Tej Bahadhur Singh, an IFS officer of 2008 batch, who while challenging the Government Order No. 187-FST of 2018 dated 07.06.2018, submitted that vide this order he was transferred from the post of Conservator of Forest(CF), Chenab Circle, Doda and  directed to report to PCCF and Vivek Sharma, who is an IFS officer of 2010 batch, posted as DFO Bhadarwah, was asked to look after the charge of CF, Chenab Circle, Doda at the behest of ex-Minister Rajiv Jasrotia.
After hearing Advocate Abhinav Sharma appearing for the petitioner, Justice Janak Raj Kotwal issued notice to the Commissioner Secretary Forest Department, Rajeev Jasrotia, ex-Minister (presently MLA) and Vivek Sharma, DFO Bhaderwah.
High Court also ordered that subject to objections and till next date before the bench, impugned order dated 07.06.2018 shall remain stayed. High Court also directed that Vivek Sharma shall report to the Administrative Department and it shall remain open for Administrative Department to give him appropriate posting, having regard to his cadre position.
In addition, the Administrative Department shall accord consideration to the representation of the petitioner in view of the averments made in petition and shall intimate the decision taken to this court along with their objections in the writ petition.
