HC starts BAS in all courts

Srinagar, July 16: High Court today made Biometric Attendance System (BAS) mandatory for all officials and employees of the High Court and Sub-ordinate Courts for ensuring punctuality.
The officials in all the courts across the State have been asked to mark their attendance through the BAS. “In order to ensure punctuality in the courts, the High Court Vide Circular number 83 dated 28-06-2018 made implementation of Biometric Attendance System (BAS) mandatory in the High Court as well as for all the Subordinate Court of the state of Jammu and Kashmir and it has been made obligatory for all the officers as well as the officials of the High Court and the Subordinate Courts to mark their attendance through BAS”, a statement issued by the High Court said.
“This is yet another revolutionary step the High Court has taken to take help of the technology in improving the justice delivery system in the State of Jammu and Kashmir”, the statement said.
Four Biometric Attendance machines have been installed in each wing of the High Court and all the officers and officials working in each wing including the Main Wing have been registered in the BAS.
The marking of attendance through Biometric Attendance Machines was started from today. Biometric machines have also been installed in all the Court Complexes of the State, State Judicial Academy at Jammu and Srinagar and office of Member Secretary State Legal Services Authority Srinagar.
Switching over to the electronic mode of marking of attendance will enhance the presence of the staff in the offices and will bring efficiency in the Judicial System.
