JAMMU, Dec 27: State Judicial Academy today released annual newsletter for the year 2015-2016 as well as its academic calendar for the year 2016-17.
The newsletter has been compiled under the guidance and patronage of Chief Patron of State Judicial Academy, Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar, Chief Justice, High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Committee of Judges, State Judicial Academy ( Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar, Chairman, Justice Janak Raj Kotwal, Member).
The newsletter and calendar were released in the conference hall of High Court in the presence of Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar, Chairman J&K State Judicial Academy, Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice Ali Mohammad Magray. Abdul Rashid Malik, Director State Judicial Academy, Jawad Ahmed, Registrar Judicial High Court and Farooq Ahmed Bhat, Joint Registrar Judicial High Court were also present on the occasion.
The newsletter presented the report card/performance report for the year 2015-2016. Chief Justice in his message published in the newsletter has appreciated the outstanding performance of the J&K State Judicial Academy which has the distinction of being the oldest academy in the country.
According to the newsletter, during the year 2015-2016, more than sixty six conferences, workshops and training courses were organised by the J&K State Judicial Academy which include two State Level Conferences on “Delay and Arrears, Problems and Solutions: Strategy and Directions” and also three State Level Conferences with World Wide Forests (WWF) on Forests and Wildlife, Conferences on Juvenile Justice with UNICEF and Save the Children.
During the year, the State Judicial Academy also conducted several workshops and refresher training programmes on Civil, Criminal and Constitutional Law.
In the new calendar, the Judicial Academy under the guidance of National Judicial Academy Council has formulated a very ambitious, creative, fruitful and productive academic calendar.
