HC directs ex-DC to file report

SRINAGAR, July 23: The State Court today directed the former Deputy Commissioner Anantnag to conclude the report in a land acquisition case within two weeks and file the report before the court regarding compensation claim of the petitioner whose land has been acquired by Pahalgam Development Authority.
Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey after hearing a petition wherein the petitioner Bashir Ahmad Fargadoo states that his land measuring 8 Kanals and 19 Marlas situated at Pahalgam in the first instance has been occupied by the SKUAST authorities, but later the land was occupied by the PDA authorities which at present is in their possession.
The court directed the then DC Anantnag Sougat Bisvas to conclude the report and submit it before the court and “in case he fails to do so he shall remain present in person on next date”.
The Court in this regard also directed the present DC Anantnag to provide all documents pertaining to the case to Bisvas so as to ensure him to complete the report.
The petitioner also submits that he also moved an application to collector Anangnag(DC) for compensation but all in vain and no compensation till date has been paid to him as the Government is playing and infringing the rights of the petitioners.
He is praying in his petition that proceeding regarding acquisition be concluded by adhering to the provisions of land acquisition act and awarded amount be paid to him.
