Srinagar, Feb 24:  High Court has rejected the bail application of accused involved in having contraband items in his possession.
Justice Sanjeev Kumar observed that the offences committed by the petitioner along with his associate are serious and grave in nature as the menace of drug has already destroyed the lives of several innocent and gullible children and has torn into the social fabric of our country.
“Keeping in view the rigors as provided under Section 37 of the NDPS Act, the petitioner, at this stage, does not deserve concession of bail”, Justice Kumar said.
“If the accused of such offences are let-off easily by granting them the concession of bail, the same would have adverse and deleterious impact on the society as such perpetrators of such crimes,” court added.
As per the prosecution one Riyaz Ahmad Baba along with his associate was apprehended by police on August 2015 carrying polythene bags and on the search process, 20 bottles of Rancof and 400 gms of charas were recovered from one Ghulam Hassan Teli and 07 bottles, 02 bottles of Rancof, 03 bottles of Rancodex and 2 bottles of Kofedol) were recovered from the petitioner-Baba.
