Hats off to scientists

Three cheers to space scientists to whose cap another feather has been added. They have done India pride by successfully launching Prithvi II nuclear capable missile into the space at Chandipur in Balasore. Capable of carrying 500 to 1,000 kg of warheads its full strike range is within 350 km. With the addition of Prithvi II, our nuclear missile force has been further strengthened.
What is a matter of great satisfaction is that our country is becoming self sufficient in the production of nuclear missile that is crucial to our defence strategy.  We need not reiterate the need for our country to improve our defence capability in the light of hostile attitude of our neighbours. China is already ahead of us in missile technology and Pakistan is not lagging behind. We would not need to run a race of competition with them only if we were assured that they have no ill intentions against us. But as the things stand today, we need to be prepared for any eventuality. We cannot compromise our security. China and Pakistan both have illegally grabbed part of our territory in J&K. They can do any mischief if they find us lacking full preparedness in defence sector. Therefore we salute our space scientists that are all committed to the security of the nation and deterrence to enemy’s nefarious designs.
