KATRA, July 9: Wrestler Amit of Sonipat (Harayana), Akhara Chattershal Delhi defeated Wrestler Ajay Sharma of Landen Power House, Udhampur and lifted 6th Annual Chak Morh (Chopra Shop) Dangal Title” 2018 in the main first malli bout that lasted for 19 minutes.
Dangal was organised by Chak Morh (Chopra Shop) Dangal Committee collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of Satish Kumar (President) and Ashok Kumar (Shosha).
Renowned Wrestlers from across the country participated in the Vishal, famous and historical Dangal which was witnessed by large gathering of nearly 12,000 people from Jammu Province.
BJP Senior Leader and State General Secretary Pawan Khajuria was the chief guest on the occasion who distributed cash prizes of Rs 3,00,000 among the men and women Wrestlers. 70 bouts were played in the one day long Dangal.
Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council Shiv Kumar Sharma who is also Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India, President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, presided over the function.
SSP Udhampur Rayees Bhatt and DySP Kulbir Handa were the guests of honour, while Col (Retd) Balwant Singh and SHO Udhampur Sanjeev Gupta were also present on the occasion.
Winner of main Ist malli bout Wrestler Amit was cash awarded with Rs 31,000 by Pawan Khajuria, SSP Rayees Bhatt and Shiv Kumar Sharma while runners-up Wrestler Ajay Sharma was awarded with cash prize of Rs 20,000 by DySP Kulbir Handa, Satish Kumar and Ashok Kumar (Shosha).
The second main bout was won by Tejpal of Phagwara (Punjab) who defeated Ishaq Ahmed (Lallu) of Bajrangi Akhara Jammu. Another 2nd malli bout was won by Manna of Zirkarpur (Chandigarh) who defeated Nisar of J&K Police, resident of Doda, 3rd malli bout was won by Kapil of Guru Hanuman Akhara Delhi who defeated Babba of Kot Bhawal, Akhara Domana Jammu and 5th bout was won by Sagar of Meerut who defeated Vikas of Delhi.
