Hari Prabhu Sanstha holds AGM, elects new president

JAMMU, July 16: Hari Prabhu Sanstha (HPS) held its 14th annual general meeting (AGM) in the office of Bharat Scouts and Guides, Gandhi Nagar, here today, during which all the members unanimously elected SC Gupta as new president of the Sanstha.
Thakur Shamsher Singh Manhas, MP Rajya Sabha, was the chief guest while Harihar Dutt (retired Director, Planning) and Sanjeev Sharma, PRO to Union Minister, Dr Jitendra Singh, were the guests of honour. The meeting was presided over by Harinder Gupta, patron of the Sanstha while chief patron, ID Soni was also present.
Jagmohan Gupta, president of the Sanstha, in his welcome address, spoke about the aims and objectives of the Sanstha while general secretary, SC Gupta, presented annual report of activities of the Sanstha during 2017-18.
SC Gupta apprised the members that Sanstha have disbursed widow/old age pension and scholarships worth Rs 2.62 lakh to deserving students, besides providing financial help for medical treatment to needy and poor patients to the tune of Rs 1.2 lakh during the year. The Sanstha also provided boarding and lodging to 8 blind and handicapped inmates in the Ashray, he added.
Treasurer, Subhash Gupta, presented annual accounts for the financial year 2017-18 which was passed by voice vote of the members.
Later, SK Jain, president, VKMI, conducted election of the Sanstha during which SC Gupta was unanimously elected as president of the Sanstha. The newly elected president will form his team of office bearers in accordance with bye-laws of constitution of the Sanstha. The House also made an amendment in its constitution by increasing the tenure of president and other office bearers from 3 to 5 years.
