Hardcore criminal arrested with sharp edged weapon

JAMMU, July 14: A hardcore criminal was arrested by Chatha police from Bhour Camp (Chatha), in city outskirts.
According to police, a naka was established yesterday by a police team from police post Chatha led by Incharge police post, SI Sandeep Charak, at Bhour Camp, Chatha and an Alto car bearing registration number JK02BR-8276 coming from Bhour Camp was signaled to stop for checking.
“But instead of stopping, the driver accelerated the vehicle and break the naka”, police said, adding, the vehicle was chased and caught at some distance, and its driver namely Vijay Kumar alias Nagi son of Nagar Maal, resident of Ward No 7, RS Pura, was apprehended.
They said that on personal search of the driver, a sharp edged weapon (Tokka) was recovered from his possession. Police said that the accused is a notorious criminal and several FIRs stand registered against him in police stations RS Pura, Channi Himmat, Gangyal and Satwari.
The arrest was made by SI Sandeep Charak, Incharge, police post, Chatha, under the supervision of Inspector Manjeet Singh, SHO, police station Satwari. The whole operation was carried out under the overall supervision of Deputy SP, Rafiq Manhas, SDPO, City South and Sandeep Choudhary, SP City, South Jammu.
