RAJOURI, Mar 16: All endeavors executed by SOS International, an organization for displaced persons from PoK during the course of its struggle to obtain much awaited justice have been ruined by administration due to improper procedure being adopted by authorities in the process of providing claims of ex-gratia relief amount to PoK DPs.
Addressing a public meeting at Dangri near Rajouri today, chairman of the refugee organization, Rajiv Chuni accused Government of avoiding easy mode in this pursuit. He categorically said that Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti’s directions for smooth and hassle- free disbursal procedure are being ignored by concerned authorities as PoK DPs are facing severe hardships due to current process of having first installment of relief amount.
DPs leader said that Chief Minister has announced that PoK DPs would not face any difficulty in the process of obtaining ex-gratia relief amount as Government has made the process easier but the ground reality doesn’t match the wording of the Chief Minister because PoK DPs have been put in another state of trauma due to disorganized strategy and flawed planning of authorities.
“To become eligible for making claim for ex-gratia relief grant, one of the documents among Form A or Nominal Role or Loan Ledger is sufficient. The SOS International had asked for the same but in Rajouri, Tehsildars or Deputy PRO are asking for Form A to PoK DPs against issuance of claim forms. Scores of PoK DPs don’t have Form A as they were given direct allotment by the then Tehsildars concerned instead of PRO in those cases, Form A were not issued. No such condition is applied in Jammu as anyone can have the claim form but in Rajouri the scenario is totally different.
Government needs to adopt same procedure in every district because as this sort of approach has put PoK DPs in uncertainty, he added.
