Handing over of Batote -Kishtwar road to AFCON demanded

KISHTWAR, Apr  23: – Member District Advisory Board for Development of Kissans, Shamsher Singh Bhandari has demanded that Batote – Kishtwar road be immediately handed over to AFCON which is constructing the Jammu, Srinagar National Highway.
Addressing a meeting of the social activists and Congress workers of the area, he expressed grave concern over the condition of the Highway which has become a death trap after it was handed over to BEACON.
He said the road is in worst condition especially from Drabshalla to Kishtwar and no efforts are being made by the concerned agency to maintain it properly.
The meeting demanded construction of a all weather road to Kishtwar from Batote so that the people of this hilly belt are relieved from their problems.
Mr Bhandari has made an appeal to Union Surface Transport Ministry and National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) also in this regard. The meeting among others was attended by Farooq Ahmed Tapal, Ghulam Hassan Shah, Tilak Raj Shan, Akshay Kumar local Congress leaders.
