POONCH, Jan 29:  A noted Gujjar leader from Poonch, Shamsher Hakla  has  urged upon the Government to provide all basic facilities to nomadic Gujjars and Bakerwals in the State.
In a statement issued here today, Hakla said that these helpless people are  leading   a miserable and hard life and being nationalists  to the core,  Government should  take effective steps in providing benefits of all welfare schemes launched for them from time to time.
Hakla said that these people are guarding the borders of the country in the J&K State and have also played a remarkable roll in this regard right from partition of the country. He said that problems of these helpless people have been compounded. He appealed to the Prime Minister  to find an everlasting solution to the problems in Kashmir so that the people living on borders don’t get disturbed. He also sought   political reservation for the Gujjar- Bakerwal community.
