Habib Ashraf slams patient century in Chief Minister’s Cricket Cup

JAMMU, Mar 4: Riding on a splendid century (117) by Habib Ashraf Sheikh, FM Cricket Club thrashed Tresha Cricket Club, RS Pura by a huge margin of 195 runs in the ongoing 1st State Level 50-Overs Cricket Tournament for Chief Minister’s Cup, being organised by Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council in collaboration with Country Cricket Academy at Gharota, here here.
The tournament is being held in the memory of late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, former Chief Minister, under the supervision of Vikrant Sharma, Director Country Cricket Academy, Gharota, Jammu.
Batting first, FMCC scored a big total of 312 runs in 50 overs. Apart from Habib Ashraf’s century, wherein he batted for around three hours, Ahmer contributed valuable 63 runs. Nikhil took 3 wickets for Tresha Cricket Club.
In reply, Tresha Cricket Club bundled out for 117 runs, thus won the match by 195 runs. Rakesh was the main scorer with 30 runs. For FMCC, Mohd Sakib scalped 3 wickets, while Kapil claimed two. Habib Ashraf was adjudged as man of the match.
The match was officiated by Madan and Dayal as umpires, while Sandeep Singh was the third umpire.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Jammu Cricket Club (JCC) will take on Kathua Cricket XI at the same venue at 9 am.
