JAMMU, May 29: Gymnasts and Judokas of various schools showed composure and displayed skill on day-2 of the ongoing District Level Tournament in the sports disciplines of Judo, Kurash, Jeet Kwando, Gymnastics, Karate and Rope Skipping for Under-17 and Under-14 boys/girls, besides Tennis Ball Cricket and Tennis Cricket Under-17 boys and girls for the year 2018-19 of District Jammu at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium and Green Field, Gandhi Nagar, here.
In all, 300 boys drawn from 14 Zones of Jammu District are taking part in the competitions.
The competitions are being organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports under the patronage of Shiekh Fayaz Ahmad, Director General and under the overall supervision of Madan Lal, Joint Director. Chanchal Kour, DYSSO Jammu is the Organising Secretary of the tournament.
The main objective of the competitions is to select the teams of Jammu District for the Inter District Division Level competitions.
In Gymnastics Under-14 boys, the winners included Aryan of Banyan International, Swarakshak of KC Public School, Mahardeep Singh of Banyan International, Mohit Tahwa of KV No-1 Gandhi Nagar, Rijul of Banyan International, Kritiya of KC International and Suransh Sharma of Oriental Academy, while in Gymnastics Under-17 boys, the winners included Dhairya Sharma of Banyan International, Laksh Mahajan of MHAC Nagbani, Gagandeep Singh of KC International, Atyash Gupta of Shanti Swaroop Memorial, Manishdeep Singh of MV International, Aryan Sharma of APS Jammu and Aditya Damthia.
In Karate Under-14 boys, the winners included Vidhan Zutshi of SNS, Aush of SOS, Danish Malhotra of Neha emerged winners, while in Judo Under-14 boys, Divansh of SOS, Sujal Gupta of Jagriti Mission, Agastya of Shangrilla, Shah Nawaz of SOS School, Akshay Sharma of BSF and Arnav Gupta of DPS claimed 1st positions in their respective weight categories, while in Judo Under-17 boys, Shivam Billoria of BSF, Ishan Saina of KC International, Romel Razdan of KC International and Kamaya-nshey of SOS International claimed 1st places in various weight categories.
The matches were officiated by Virender Sharma, Nitin Sharma, Mukta Gupta, Vishal Singh, Mayank Jain, Kamal Singh, Omeshwar Sanyal and Neeru Jabalia.
