Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Samman Yatra reaches Anandpur Sahib

JAMMU, Jan 6: Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Samman Yatra-2018 was inaugurated  today at Sheeshganj Gurudwara, Chandni Chowk, Delhi.
The Yatra which has gained historical importance due to historical context has been initiated by the Kashmiri Pandit organisations in collaboration with the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee and the SGPC. Over 1,000 people participated in the inaugural function of the Yatra at the Gurudwara Sheeshganj.
The inaugural function included Ardas, Shabd Kirtan, felicitations and Langar Prasad. This initiative is reflective of the sentiment of Thanks Giving by the Kashmiri Pandit community to the Great Guru Shri Teg Bahadur Ji Maharaj. The Yatra is also a tribute to the great memory of the supreme sacrifice of the Guruji in the 17th Century.
Prominent personalities who attended the inaugural function included Sardar Manjit Singh GK, President, DSGPC, Sardar M.S.Sirsa-DSGPC, Priti Sapru, Punjabi Actress, Jayprada, Bollywood Actress, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, President, Panun Kashmir, Swami KumarJi, Ranjeet, Film Actor, Lt. Gen(retd)  S.K. Razdan, Lt. General (retd) P.S.Mehta, Col.(retd)  Tej Tikoo, Utpal Kaul,  Sanjay Sapru, Bhau Singh Mehta-London Wale, Puran Patwari, Vijay Kashkari, M.K.Yogi, Dr. Handoo, Dr. S.K.Handoo, Dr.Rajat Mitra, Ajay Pandita, Rohit Dhar and Sanjay Ganjoo.
The Yatra is recognised as a mission to spread the message of peace and love for all. It was emphasized in the function that Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib’s Shahadat was not only saviour of the Kashmiri Pandits but of the entire Hindu society from the religious intolerance, and torture by the cruel emperor, Aurangzeb.
The Yatra reached Anandpur Sahib via Panipat and Ambala in the evening hours. A large contingent of yatries from Jammu, Delhi, Faridabad, Gurugram, Dwarika, Ghaziabad, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh and Haryana is a part of the Sanmaan Yatra. Gurudwaras and local associations had organised langer and other services for the yatries en route. The formal ceremonies will be held tomorrow, the 7th of January 2018 (Mata Roop Bhaani Divas).
