Gurgaon Stars clinch Friendship Series by 3-2 against Jammu Rising Stars

GURGAON, June 21:  Outplaying Jammu Rising Stars convincingly in the last match of the Series, Gurgaon Stars clinched the 5-match Friendship Series by 3-2 at Ajanta Institutions ground, under flood lights, here today.
The cricket series /exposure tour was organized at Gurgaon by All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS) Delhi, Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu, Police Headquarters Gurgaon and Ambience Group, under the supervision of IGP Jammu, Dr SD Singh Jamwal and Vijay Aima, President AIKS.
The main objective of the series was a ‘Youth Integration through Sports’.
Dr D Suresh, Divisional Commissioner and former Ranji Trophy Player was the chief guest, who distributed the trophies and gifts among the participating players in presence of Vijay Aima, President AIKS; Rajesh Dhar, Chairman Media Committee JKCA; Ajay Pandita, General Secretary KKS Gurgaon; Rajesh Gill, former Ranji Trophy Player; Rohit Hashia, Cricket Promoter; Pankaj Dhar; Meenakshi Dhar, Captain of Women Sharda Cricket Club; Sunil Koul; Aryan Ramesh, Secretary AIKS and Madan Mohan, Coach of Jammu team.
Dr Suresh while speaking on the occasion congratulated the organizers for holding this mega event with an objective to promote Youth Integration through sports.
He said to excel in any field, one needs to be dedicated, determined, focused and goal oriented.
Earlier, Mr Aima while presenting brief report of the Series said that the main motive of the event was to provide ample opportunity to the budding cricketers of Jammu and Gurgaon to hone their skill at a bigger circuit and be ready for the events to be held at higher levels, besides promoting youth integration.

Earlier, in the final match, Gurgaon Stars defeated Jammu Rising Stars by 16 runs.
Batting first, Gorgaon Stars scored 123 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. Harsh Kalla (26), Sonu Yadav (24) and Deepak (16) were the main contributors.
For Jammu Rising Stars, Nalin and Ashim took 2 wickets each, while Praful and Aditpal shared 1 wicket each.
In reply, Jammu Rising Stars managed to score 112 runs in 20 overs, thus lost the match by 11 runs. Aprajit (22), Surya (18), Musaif (14) and Rohan (10) were the main scorers.
For Gurgaon Stars, Arshit took 3 wickets, while Dharya bagged 2 and Pratham claimed 1 wicket.
