Gur prices remain steady in thin trade

NEW DELHI, July 15:  Gur (Jaggery) market settled quiet at the wholesale market in the national capital owing to sluggish demand amid negligible arrivals.
Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also displayed a steady trend with prices after moving in a tight range, pegged at unchanged levels.
Marketmen said restricted arrivals and sluggish demand mainly kept gur prices unaltered.
Following are today’s rates (in Rs per quintal):
Gur chakku Rs 3,500-3,600, pedi Rs 3,800-3,900, dhayya Rs 3,900-4,000 and shakkar Rs 4,100-4,200.
Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,625-2,675, chakku Rs 3,100- 3,250, khurpa Rs N.Q. And Ladoo Rs 3,250-3,300.
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 3,400-3,450 and dhayya Rs 3,450- 3,500. (PTI)
