Gur prices remain quiet in thin trade

NEW DELHI, July 8:  In lacklustre trading, gur (Jaggery) prices pegged at overnight closing levels at the wholesale market in the national capital today in thin trade.
Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also displayed a steady trend with prices settling at previous levels on scattered deals.
Marketmen said absence of any worthwhile activity due to off-season amid restricted supplies, mainly kept gur prices flat.
The volume of business was also at low ebb.
Following are today’s rates (in Rs per quintal):
Gur chakku Rs 3,600-3,700, pedi Rs 3,800-3,900, dhayya Rs 3,900-4,000 and shakkar Rs 4,000-4,100.
Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,650-2,700, chakku Rs 3,200- 3,350,khurpa Rs N.Q. And Ladoo Rs 3,250-3,300.
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 3,400-3,450 and dhayya Rs 3,450-3,500. (PTI)
